Prof. Wei Zhang (張薇) is a Professor in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She also serves as Associate Director of the Institute of Integrated Circuits and Systems, the HKUST and Intel Joint Laboratory, and the HKUST–SDU Intelligent Computing Joint Laboratory. She is an Area Editor for Reconfigurable Computing of ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems.

She received her Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Princeton University, where she was honored with the Wu Prize for research excellence. She joined HKUST in 2013 and established the Reconfigurable System Lab. Prior to HKUST, she was an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2010–2013). She has also been a co-investigator of the Singapore–MIT Alliance for Research and Technology and a collaborator of the A*STAR–UIUC Advanced Digital Sciences Center.

Her research spans computer architecture, design automation, embedded systems, FPGA-based design, and heterogeneous computing. Her recognitions include the Best Paper Award from the IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI, and two international patents (one under commercialization).
