Prof. Ping Wang (王平) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His laboratory focuses on developing high-performance power electronics for emerging energy systems and applications, including AI chip power delivery, data centers, electric vehicles, and renewable energy.
He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 2023, and his B.S. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2017. His research spans high-frequency power conversion and control, high-density power packaging, integrated magnetics modeling and design, WBG-based power converters, and AI for power design and control.
His honors include the IEEE PELS Ph.D. Thesis Talk (P3 Talk) Award, two Prize Paper Awards of the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, and two First-Place Awards of the IEEE ECCE Best Student Project Demo Competition.
